King steps down as CEO of Hertfordshire FA

After nearly two years at the helm, Pete King will be leaving his role as Chief Executive Officer of The Hertfordshire Football Association.

King will continue to actively lead the Association until the end of November, and will be working closely with Hertfordshire FA directors, council and staff to deliver the key objectives of the county until that time.

Hertfordshire FA chairman Martin Bayliss placed on record his thanks to the outgoing CEO, saying: “Pete has led the organisation extremely well over the past two years and has significantly contributed to the success of The Hertfordshire Football Association.

“He leaves behind a legacy of the new headquarters building project and an organisation that is well positioned to deliver on the requirements of the new National Game Strategy in the years to come.

“We thank Pete for all his efforts in recent years and wish him the very best for the future.”

In his time in charge of The Hertfordshire Football Association, King has overseen the implementation of the FA’s Whole Game System and also a transition into a new office facility.

King said he had enjoyed his time leading “an unique business,” adding that he thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to lead The Hertfordshire Football Association over the last two years.

“‘It has been a privilege to have shared in some of the experiences of the grassroots game that our members and stakeholders have delivered in my time here,” he said.

“I would like to express my thanks to everyone I have been in contact with and wish the County FA and its members the very best for the future.”

The search for a new Chief Executive Officer will begin immediately, with an appointment hoped to be made before the start of the New Year.

The successful candidate will have experience of working at senior management level, ideally within a sports organisation.

Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and experience of grassroots football and will have experience of producing strategies and delivery plans. .Sound organisation and project management skills are required, while excellent communication, presentation and IT skills will be expected.
