One way it offers respite for carers is through the Make a Difference Breaks service.

A Make a Difference Break is provided once, free of charge, to enable the carer to have a break and improve their health and wellbeing.

Project administrator Graham Lawrence said: “The break could be some complementary therapy, equipment to pursue a hobby, training or a qualification, a holiday, something to support you in keeping fit or anything else that will benefit you.”

Carers can find out more about the support Carers in Hertfordshire provides, including Make a Difference Breaks, at an information day from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm on Friday, March 31.

There will be a chance to enjoy a complementary therapy taster, tour the leisure centre and visit stalls highlighting types of breaks and organisations that have provided them.

In addition, one lucky person will win a £100 John Lewis gift voucher in a free prize draw.

Graham said: “We’d particularly like to welcome carers from Dacorum, Three Rivers and Watford along, as fewer carers from these boroughs have taken up the opportunity of a Make a Difference Break from caring.”
